In addition to competing for its 11th World Title, Miss GEICO participates in 20 National Boat Shows, 3 National Air Shows competing against the GEICO Skytypers, 5 Nationally televised P-1 Powerboat Races, 10 AquaX jet ski races, and numerous charitable events assisting United We Race, Inc. our own 501 (c) (3) charity that distributes 100% of the proceeds to United States Veterans. The Miss GEICO Offshore Race Team is hard at work and hungry to claim its 11th World Title against a long list of teams from Qatar, Norway, Australia, and the United States.”

World Champion Miss GEICO Offshore Race Team

  • Miss GEICO has won 11 World Titles in its 15 year existence.
  • Miss GEICO is the defending World Champion in the Unlimited Class (now called Class One).
  • Class One is the crowd favorite. It features the biggest, loudest, and fastest race boats in the world. This year all the boats in Class One are running sealed Mercury 1100 race engines and will weigh 12,500 pounds.
  • Miss GEICO is a 47’ Victory Catamaran powered by twin sealed Mercury 1100 twin turbo engines.
  • Miss GEICO weighs 12,500 pounds and will reach speeds in excess of 160 mph.
  • Miss GEICO is throttled by Steven Curtis and driven by Travis Patrana/Brit Lilly. Steve Curtis is the most decorated offshore racer in the world. Travis Pastrana is a world renowned X Games gold medalist and former NASCAR driver and Brit Lilly is a Hall of Fame Offshore Racer.
  • Miss GEICO participates in races across the country. Most recently Miss GEICO competed in the APBA World Championship Series which consists of six (6) races across the USA.
  • Miss GEICO will be competing against race boats from Dubai, Australia, Norway, Sweden, and the USA for the coveted World Series Title.
  • Most races are between 65 and 90 miles.
  • The Miss GEICO race boat performs best in 1’-2’ waves.
  • With a catamaran the boat travels faster into the wind because the wind lifts the tunnel of the boat creating less water resistance and allowing the boat to travel faster.
  • Unlike cars and bikes, there exists no benefit to ride in slipstream as race boats travel faster on clean water rather than disturbed water.
  • Miss GEICO holds over 250 gallons of fuel.
  • At top speed Miss GEICO burns through 1 gallon per mile.
  • Miss GEICO runs on pump gas or 93 octane gasoline.
  • Miss GEICO has a crew of over 12 people to transport the race boat, safety boat, and NASCAR hauler to the boat races.
  • Gary Stray is the team crew chief and he is a world renowned master boat rigger.

Steve Curtis is the most decorated throttleman in offshore history. Has MBE from the Queen of England!

Team crew chief and partner Gary Stray has worked with Steve since they were teenagers, at Cougar Marine in UK.
