World class marine motorsport will bring color and velocity to the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront, where international promoter Powerboat P1 will stage a double bill showdown of powerboat and jet-ski racing.The two-day race, taking place Sept. 4-5, is free to spectators and plays part of the eight-venue APBA national championship, which features both professional and amateur P1 AquaX racing. The pits for the race boats will be at Vinoy Park with the AquaX pits at Spa Beach and will be open to the public from 5:00-10:00pm on Friday and between 5:00-8:00pm on Saturday. The St. Peter Pier will cater to race-goers with food vendors and LED screens set-up to stream the live broadcast, which will be captured via helicopters and drones. Friday evening Matthew Wayne, a Florida-grown country band will be playing in Vinoy Park from 7.00pm, sponsored by A-Game Beverages, a series partner for the P1 Offshore race season.

Earlier this year, Powerboat P1 partnered with extreme sports legend Travis Pastrana and Nitro Circus for an invitational powerboat racing challenge which took place in downtown St. Pete, featuring famous names from the worlds of motorsport and entertainment.
