Powerboat P1 has announced that the sponsorship this season by CMR Construction & Roofing, which saw it become a series partner for the APBA offshore racing series, will continue in 2022. CMR’s relationship with P1 has raised its profile in new areas and opened new doors for the award-winning industry leader, particularly in Florida. This influenced it to make an early decision on extending its deal into next year.
The comprehensive sponsorship package has seen CMR receive television exposure through P1’s six broadcasts in the United States and internationally, sponsorship of the welcome events at six races in the APBA Offshore National Championship, branding on the podium backdrop and additional banners, VIP hospitality, naming rights to the Shaun Torrente Racing (STR) team, and ongoing coverage through P1’s social media and public relations program. Founded more than 17 years ago and now the country’s tenth-largest roofing company with more than 500 employees, CMR was not a newcomer to the motorsport world this year, being a longtime NASCAR Xfinity Series sponsor, but this was its first venture into powerboat racing. Roar Offshore returns to Fort Myers Beach on Florida’s Gulf coast next weekend (October 7-9) as the final stop of the APBA offshore series and, as a premier sponsor of the event, CMR will have a major presence through an extensive branding package. In the wake of Hurricane Ida, the deadly and destructive Category 4 Atlantic hurricane at the end of August, CMR has been providing relief work in hard-hit Louisiana in an all-hands-on-deck endeavor to support the victims. CMR specializes in emergency response, and within days of the storm hitting, the CMR team went into action. “We deployed a major operation, and our staff responded to schools, homes, and government facilities,” explained Steve Soule. “We’re mounting a major fundraising effort to take our response to another level, and it will be promoted across all of our racing sponsorships, including Shaun Torrente Racing.” CMR will be hosting a benefit concert to raise funds for the hurricane victims in southern Louisiana.
