The P1 Annual Awards event at the famous Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach on Sunday evening celebrated the 2021 AquaX USA Pro and Am Enduro national champions and the winners of the MOD-V offshore powerboat class. Invited guests were present from both the personal watercraft and offshore powerboat racing worlds.
In the offshore powerboat racing awards, P1 MOD V series, father and son winners Steve and Stephen Kildahl of #2 Boatfloater.com, were presented with a cheque for $50,000. The class was sponsored by an anonymous supporter who has donated prize money to promote the class as the premier entry-level class to attract new, younger teams and to build a fan base for teams. The Kildahls thanked Boatfloater.com for their continued support of Scott Free Racing.
The crew of #22 Punisher, Charlie McCarthy and Anthony Silvera took second place and a cheque for $25,000. Brit Lily and Kevin Smith of LBS Racing received prize money of $15,000 for finishing third.
In the P1 AquaX competition, Pro Enduro champion Erminio Iantosca partnered with Yamaha for the first time last season and thanked them for their support. He also thanked Dean Charrier of Dean’s Team and his family. Chris Macclugage and Tory Snyder, the Pro Rookie of the Year, took second and third places in the class.
The 300 Amateur class winner was Yaniel Fiallo, with Graham Hunt in second and Dominico Barilla in third. Frankie Mojica picked up the award for Overall Champion in the 200 Amateur Class.
Errol Lange lifted the cup for the Northern Series AM 200 class and acknowledged the support he received from his team and sponsors.
The MC for the evening was Mikey Young.
