Mod V Class St Pete Race Report and Gallery

We had a great race battling with the leader for most of the race and the course was fun to drive with the dogleg. Conditions were favorable with some rollers and chop but the boat was set up perfectly and we were able to get a first-place finish after a post-race technical infringement by the leader.
Overall the St. Pete Grand Prix is an awesome event with the location and the access the fans get on the pier it makes it very exciting. We always look forward to coming to St.Pete and can’t wait for next year
Stephen Kildahl
Boatfloater.com, Driver

Owner/throttleman Steve Miklos of New Port Richey, FL and driver Steve Fehrmann of Tarpon Springs, FL, led from start to finish in their 29-foot Extreme, #21 Sunprint/Hooters.

Boatfloater.com, #2, the current APBA class leaders, came in second. However, Sunprint was later relegated to last place for exceeding their RPM limit level. So the St Petersburg title went to the very successful family team of Steve Kildahl of Ft Myers, FL and his son Stephen Kildahl from Sarasota, FL.

Sunprint’s penalty also lifted #10 Smoking Tuna Saloon to second place. The 28-foot Fountain was driven by Chris Schoeneohm and throttled by Frank Sarro, both of Palm Bay, FL.
